We’ve partnered up with some stellar folks who scoop up plastic from oceans and waterways. They’re like the cleanup crew for Mother Nature’s backyard pool. Not only do we stop new plastics from taking a dive, but we’re also scooping up and using 100% ocean-bound plastic. No virgin plastics here, folks!
Once we’ve fished out that ocean plastic, it’s off to a specialist processing centre. Here, it gets a spa treatment – cleaned, sorted, shredded, dried – you name it! It’s all to get that plastic primed and ready for its new life.
That processed material gets sorted, heated, moulded into plastic granules (with a little help from a stabiliser), and then sent off to our manufacturer. They’re the magicians who turn this recycled plastic into our slick frames.
So, there you have it! Our sunglasses aren’t just cool accessories; they’re a ray of hope in the fight against ocean plastic. Every pair tells a tale of transformation from ocean trash to awesome sunnies. Join us on this eco-adventure, one stylish step at a time!
We are proud to be supporting Sungai Watch and their ongoing fight to prevent plastic from entering our oceans by deploying our very own trash barriers.
Sungai Watch is a Bali-based environmental organisation on a mission to stop plastic from reaching the ocean by installing trash barriers to catch plastic waste flowing down rivers. These barriers aren’t just any barriers; they're like the bouncers at the club, letting marine life in for free while keeping pesky plastic out.
Our first barrier is set to make a splash early 2024, doing its superhero job of catching plastic waste! And hold onto your hats, because our second barrier is already in the making. And we plan to deploy a third and fourth barrier by the end of 2024.
Ever heard that rivers are like secret plastic highways to the ocean? Well, 80% of ocean plastic hitchhikes that way! Well, not on our watch! Nomad Eyewear & Sungai Watch are here to disrupt that route. Our mission? To support Sungai Watch by setting up as many of these mighty barrier as we can. Why? Because intercepting plastic before it dives into the ocean? That’s our kind of adventure!
80% of ocean plastic come from rivers and waterways. Nomad Eyewear & Sungai Watch want to reduce that number by collecting waste before it hits our oceans. Our mission is to support Sungai Watch by financing as many of these barrier as possible.
The Australian Marine Conservation Society (AMCS) is the guardian angel for Australia's ocean buddies! They’re the only national charity completely focused on safeguarding our oceans and the incredible creatures that call them home.
Here at Nomad, the ocean isn't just our workplace or playground; it's where we find our inspiration and joy. That’s why we’re thrilled to team up with AMCS, making monthly donations to ensure that Australia's coasts and oceans stay pristine for the generations to come. Because when it comes to preserving our aquatic wonderland, every drop counts!
As official partners of Plastic Bank®, we’re making waves with our monthly donations! Get this: our contributions add up to collecting over 10,000 single-use PET plastic bottles from beaches and waterways worldwide every month.
Imagine it as a monthly rescue mission for these bottles, giving them a new lease on life instead of drifting in our beautiful oceans. It's like playing heroes in the fight against plastic pollution! Come join us on this epic quest to keep our waters pristine and plastic-free.

Huge floating booms collect primarily HDPE, which includes plastic milk, shampoo and bleach bottles. Due to the deep ocean, only plastic that floats can be successfully collected.
